COGORTH
COGORTH (Cognitive Orthotic) is a specialized language system that supports guidance through a multi-step task. COGORTH allows messages to be presented as a text, a video display, an audio signal, or visual cues allowing directions to be displayed at any level of specificity. A keyboard input from the users was required to obtain feedback regarding his or her performance. COGORTH can determine when assistance may be needed through the indication of an inappropriate response or lack of response within a certain amount of time. COGORTH also provides programming capabilities for instructional modules which checks a user's performance for errors, branch to error correcting to help procedures, manage interruptions of a task when a higher priority task must be completed, and manage a user's environment through control of electric appliances, telephones and audio signals.
